After two postponements for bad weather, our team of Santa’s finally got their chance to climb Snowdon. It was an uneventful trip up Pyg track and we were very proud of our determination to reach the top six months after we first planned the trip.
Our efforts were in aid of Young People First, so far we’ve raised £1341 and as a group of local businesses we’ve achieved a combined total of over £13000. Thank you so much to everyone who supported us.
So far so good. The trip down Miners Path was a different story. Unfortunately, one of our team, Carol stumbled on a loose rock and fell. As she had banged her head our guides took the precautionary measure of calling immediate medical help. Carol was airlifted down within an hour and spent the night at Bangor Hospital to ensure she was ok. Although she has lots of bruises she was not seriously injured.
We did manage to rescue three other people on our journey down, a young girl who had been separated from her friends in the fog, and a couple who had also lost their way. All credit to our guides from Raw Adventures who were superb, we wouldn’t have all completed the challenge safely without them.
